The Dry Shampoo That Soaks Up Oil Like A Mop

No, really, it looks like I washed my hair—I have B&As to prove it.

Dry shampoo was invented for me. I truly can not imagine life without it. I have a lot of hair but it's long and fine (hi, tangles) and it's naturally a dark dark blonde but I have lighter highlights so it naturally already makes my roots look darker, even when it's clean. Then you add my very productive sebacious glands to the equation and, on just day two, my strands look like I've attempted the Kim K "wet look" only... I haven't (Case in point: My before pic below). Yep, my hair is probably about as oil-prone as they come so dry shampoo is always at the ready.

I've tried my fair share of dry shampoos—baby powder, mists, air pumps, even a cream, and while the air pumped powders were always my fave, there's a new dry shampoo that launched that has taken the cake (err oil?). Enter: BeautyBio Healthy Scalp Dry Shampoo (do you hear the angels singing?). The brand is known for making very innovative beauty products—namely their microneedler which they recently launched a scalp applicator for that I also tried out. So, you could say I'm a fan of the brand, but I was skeptical that they were launching a dry shampoo because they aren't a hair care brand. Well, skepticism be gone. Keep scrolling for my results.

They use a special "flash wash technology"

Don't ask me how but the brand swears by this proprietary blend of ingredients that they say "eliminate oil, remove daily residue and buildup, lift roots, enhance shine and preserve color vibrancy." This might sound too good to be true if you were reading it on the site but just look at my results to see the difference.

The formula goes on wet—very wet.

Though it does take awhile to dry down, this dry shampoo is still faster (for me at least) than having to wash and blowdry my whole head of hair. The site says that it dries down in seconds but I found it takes about 10 minutes to completely dry and look its best. If you need it to dry faster give it a quick shot with your blowdryer to speed up the process. According to the site, this "dry down" is where the cleaning process takes place to get the amazing results.

There is still a slightly chalky finish.

While I've used a lot more chalkier/powder white formulas—remember the days when baby powder was our only dry shampoo? We've come a long way—this one does have a slight powdery finish. Which, tbh, I don't mind because it almost helps brighten up my blonde. But, I've found that just brushing through my roots a few times is enough to break it up and blend it in.
